چکیده
A 13-year-old boy, admitted with hemorrhagic syndrome and fever. Physical exam showed dermo-hypodermic nodular lesion on the whole body (figure 1), facial edema (figure 2), splenomegaly at 2 cm and angulo mandibular lymph node of 2cm. Count blood cells found white blood cell at 1360/mm3 with 94% of blasts, anemia at 8.3 g/dl and thrombocytopenia at 38000/mm3. Morphological examination of bone marrow confirmed diagnosis of acute monoblastic leukemia. Flow cytometry showed positivity of CD11c, CD13, CD33, CD34, HLA-DR. karyotype was normal. Child received chemotherapy. Figure 1: A) Cutaneous nodules; B) Facial edema

Cutaneous manifestations of haematological malignancies, although well recognized in acute monoblastic leukaemia and lymphoma, are relatively uncommon in primary myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS), which is a group of heterogeneous disorders formerly known as pre-leukaemia. Previously reported cases of skin involvement in this syndrome have been confined to a sub-type of MDS, namely chronic myelomo...
متن کاملSpecific cutaneous manifestations in adult T cell leukemia/lymphoma
Background and aim: Adult T cell leukemia/lymphoma (ATLL) is an aggresive malignancy which may occur in human T lymphotropic virus1(HTLV1) infected persons. HTLV1 is endemic in Khorasan with prevalence of 2.3% in general population. Since specific cutaneous manifestations of lymphoma may occur in a significant number of patients, we studied ATLL patients in Mashhad.Mate...
متن کامل18F-FDG PET/CT Images in a Child with Cutaneous B cell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma Presented with Bone Involvement
Abstract B-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma (B-LBL) is an uncommon subtype of pediatric non-Hodgkin Lymphoma (NHL) which rarely involves the skin primarily. The positron emission tomography with 2-deoxy-2-[fluorine- 18] fluoro-D: -glucose integrated with computed tomography (18F-FDG PET/CT) scan findings of a 8-year-old boy with cutaneous B-LBL were presented. PET/CT scan demonstrated mild FDG up...
متن کاملItching Papules in a child; Scabies or Henoch Schonlein Purpura?
Introduction: Henoch schonlein purpura (HSP) is a self-limited systemic disease with multiorgan involvement. While cutaneous involvement may wary, presenting as itching papules is not a common manifestation. In this report we discuss a case of HSP which was presented solely with itching papules; mistaken for scabies. Case presentation: A 7 year old boy presented with itchy palpable papules with...

BACKGROUND In this study we explored the role of microRNAs (miRNAs) as mediators of leukemogenic effects of the fusion gene MLL-AF9, which results from a frequent chromosomal translocation in infant and monoblastic acute myeloid leukemia (AML). METHODS We performed a specific and efficient knockdown of endogenous MLL-AF9 in the human monoblastic AML cell line THP1. RESULTS The knockdown ass...
